Lazar Kleit
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Kleit retired as the executive director of two City agencies: the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and the Philadelphia Fair Housing Commission. Educated in the Philadelphia public schools, he graduated from Overbrook High School, and received a degree in English literature from Temple University. Active in the Philadelphia Jewish community, he has served on the boards of the Jewish Labor Committee and the Jewish Community Relations Council. At JCRC he chaired several commissions and was a vice-president.
Kleit has lectured at Temple University and is a member of the board of the College of Liberal Arts alumni association. He is a mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, and represents the governor of Pennsylvania on the Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial and Ethnic Fairness.
