Raechel Hammer
Raechel Hammer is a Vice President at the Klein JCC, a non-profit organization providing comprehensive social services to more than 30,000 people annually in a community center setting in Northeast Philadelphia. She oversees the development, compliance and the senior service operations including four senior centers, a home delivered meal program, the in home support program, and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Raechel works to strategically position the agency as a leader in aging services through grants, program development and community relations.
Raechel has brought creativity and innovation to the aging field by creating new and interesting programs that benefit the senior community. In her role, she understands the value and importance of collaboration and networking. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Jewish Communal Service from Gratz College. Raechel also serves as a Commissioner on the Mayor’s Commission on Aging and works tirelessly through Gen Philly, PASSA and her work at Klein JCC to further an Age Friendly Philadelphia helping to create a positive and inclusive community atmosphere for all ages.
Raechel is also active in a number of community organizations/committees that are dedicated to improving the City of Philadelphia for all generations: on the Leadership Committee of Gen Philly Network; as the Interim Director of the Philadelphia Association of Senior Service Administrators; as a Member of the Poverty Advisory Group, as a Member of Coalition HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living); and as a General Board Member of Temple Emanuel Sisterhood for the year 2011-2012.
Raechel Hammer is a committed wife to Michael Hammer and a devoted mother to their two children, David and Joshua, ages 6 and 3.
Raechel joined the JSPAN Board in 2011.
